Default Five Strategies to Crush Tournaments!

Tournament poker seems simple when everything is clicking and you are on the better end of flips. However, if you have been playing poker for a while, at the end of the day you know the best players with the best strategies are the ones who are consistently winning poker tournaments.

With this in mind, Marvin Rettenmaier gives his five most successful tournament strategies. Not all these strategies are just about winning, but some are about just maximizing the position you are in. One of the most important tips is knowing when to stall. Stalling isn't glamorous but sometimes gets the job done.

Stalling can not only be important in certain spots such as the bubble in normal tournaments but even more so in satellites where the object of the game isn't to win but just to not lose. This goes hand in hand with another tip where Rettenmaier suggests to keep an eye on other tables.

Read about all five of Rettenmaier's helpful poker tournament strategy tips.

Win a WPT World Championship Package in the Steps Challenge

The WPT World Championship is an exclusive event where you can compete against prior WPT winners and other world-class players for huge prizes. This year's event features a huge $15,300 buy-in and takes place at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ from April 21 through April 26.

We understands most poker players can't afford this huge buy-in and wants to give you a chance to play in the event without declaring bankruptcy. The WPT Steps Challenge contains six steps with the first step starting out at just $1! For every step you win, you go on to the next step where eventually you will be playing for a WPT World Championship package. You can also directly buy into any higher step if you do not want to start at the bottom.

If you don't want to invest any cash and still have a shot at playing in this year's prestigious event, you can enter a step 0 sit-and-go which only costs 10 party points!

Three Amazing Players Never to Win a Live Major

If you haven't won a major live tournament, don't feel too bad since you are in good company. In fact, many of the top poker pros despite their success and superior talent have also struggled to win a ring or bracelet in a major event.

Chris Moorman, who has over $10 million in tournament cashes, just got the monkey off his back when he won the World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic earlier this month.

While there are many other professionals that have yet to win a major live tournament, we highlights three of the most prolific poker players yet to do so - Martin Jacobson, Shannon Shorr, and Joseph Cheong. Maybe this we will see one or more of these otherwise very successful players break through with a huge live win in a major event.

    Share your opinion about that.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Good points!
Playing a solid poker tournament needs nothing but the best strategies for crushing it.
There are some points which helps you crushing this tournament efficiently, they are:
    Play to your strengths.
Continue when short stacked, thrive when big stacked.
Pay attention to each player how they are reacting when they are approaching the bubble.
    Final table, play to win.
Pay attention to patterns and play style and react appropriately in each situation.
These are some of the pick points, which helps you to crack the tournament.

    Hello
Countless nights have I sat across a table from someone & watched them get plastered silly and throw away their entire stack of chips. I've been that person too. There are nights where you're just playing with friends for low stakes and it's more about the fun than the poker -- but if you're in a casino, watch the alcohol. The truth is, while you may be more relaxed after two drinks, it may lead to you playing looser and less sharply, even if you're not fully 'drunk.'
